NOCO QUENCHING PRODUCTS

This product group of individual quench oils has come a long way compared to the original products introduced nearly a half-century ago.  They have advanced not only in their capabilities (as has the entire science and art of heat treating) but also have become more sophisticated to meet more complex problems.  This series, having inherent thermal stability, is blended from high-quality highly-refined base stocks.  Recommended applications for the individual grades follow.

CONVENTIONAL QUENCHING
This product has a good cooling rate which can, when combined with agitation, cover a wide range of steels,  NOCO Quench 1000 is a non-compounded naphthenic oil having good detergent-dispersant qualities, which greatly aid in the maintenance of coolers.

NOCO Quench 1001 is a non-compounded paraffinic conventional quench oil with naturally better thermal stability than napthenics.

Both have good cooling rates which, in combination with agitation, can be used to quench a wide range of steels.

FAST QUENCHING
NOCO Quench HS is a premium quality fast quenching oil.  Any quenching oil loses its desirable qualities due to oxidation.  NOCO Quench HS is formulated with high quality base oil to resist oil degradation through oxidation.  This results in extended oil life, brighter quenched parts which are easier to clean, and greater cooling efficiency of the oil. It is particularly effective when quenching tightly packed parts where oil circulation is impaired.

NOCO Quench 1050 is recommended for carbon and alloy steels where maximized and uniform hardness are required together with good part cleanliness and dimension stability.

HOT-OIL QUENCHING
An oil designed specifically for hot quenching applications where the reservoir temperature is maintained at 200-300°F.  The superior thermal stability of NOCO Quench 1040 was tested in conjunction with a widely used competitive oil.  NOCO Quench 1040 reduced sludge deposits and improved the brightness of quenched parts.

NOCO Quench 1040 is formulated to give distortion control and good quenching speed.  When the bath is operated at 250-300°F, the actual quenching speed of NOCO Quench 1040 in the critical second cooling stage is comparable to that of a conventional quenching oil at 125°F.
